Our Director of Education is a licensed barber with 21 years in the trade. He built SBA because barbering gave him social skills, work ethic and financial freedom, and it can do the same for anyone willing to put in the hours.

How to enroll
Three steps to your first day.
What you'll need
- Valid photo ID and U.S. Social Security card
- High school diploma or GED. No diploma? Pass the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test (200 verbal, 210 quantitative).
- Foreign diplomas need an official translation and evaluation by a Florida-approved evaluator
- Completed application and fees
- A successful admissions interview
- Age 16 or older (parental consent under 18)
Licensing note: the Florida Barbers Board reviews criminal history case by case after you finish the program. Ask us if you have questions.

How much does the program cost?
The 900-hour barbering diploma is $7,500 total.
How can I pay for it?
We offer interest-free in-house financing plans, and private loans may also be available.
How long does it take?
About 6 months as a full-time student, or 12 months part-time.
What can I do after I graduate?
Once you pass the Florida State Board exam you can work as a licensed barber. We help with job placement, though placement is not guaranteed.
